Emma Wakelin brings 17 years of experience in education, having served as a classroom teacher, middle leader, senior leader and principal. Her career includes leadership roles in well-regarded international schools in Slovenia, Croatia, China and now Mexico. In 2017, she moved to Mexico and joined an international school in the south of the city, where she gained global recognition as an educator and High Performance Learning leader, a renowned framework for world-class schools.
In 2020, she joined the TAE community as Deputy Head and, in 2023, she was appointed Head of School.
She is deeply committed to providing a world-class education, driven by the conviction that every child, regardless of age, deserves the highest standards of learning and personal development.
Adriana García Padilla holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Universidad de las Américas (UDLA) and a Master’s degree in Neurosciences Applied to Education from the TECH Institute. Her academic background and professional experience have allowed her to understand the importance of supporting learning from a human-centred perspective, grounded in empathy, well-being and the holistic development of every child.
Before joining TAE, she had the opportunity to work in various educational institutions, serving as a teacher, school psychologist and preschool director. These experiences strengthened her belief that the early years are essential for shaping curious, self-confident and happy children.

Amy Biggs holds a Master’s degree in Education from Buckinghamshire New University and a Bachelor’s degree in Primary Education with a specialisation in Early Childhood from the University of Winchester.
With more than ten years of international experience, she has had the privilege of teaching in both the United Kingdom and Mexico. She currently leads the Primary section at TAE and also serves as Head of Learning, where she is responsible for driving professional development across all sections of the school.
Her passion lies in empowering teachers and ensuring that every student has access to a high-quality education.
Claudia Garza Santos has been part of Tomás Alva Edison School for 21 years. She began her career as an English teacher, later served as coordinator of the same department and, for the past four years, has held the position of Middle School Academic Director.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Pedagogy from Universidad Panamericana and a Master’s degree from the same institution, with a specialization in instructional strategies. She also holds a diploma in Academic Coordination in Educational Institutions from Universidad Anáhuac.
Forty years after beginning her professional career, she remains firmly committed to supporting all her students so they can become the best version of themselves. Her commitment to TAE is to build a community where everyone feels safe, happy and prepared to learn and grow, not only as students, but also as individuals.
Daniel Soltero holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Universidad de las Américas. He has a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Family Therapy and a PhD in Psychology.
He has been part of TAE for 19 years, working mainly in Middle School and High School. In addition, he has worked as a psychotherapist in his private practice since 2006.
He has served as a consultant for Clave Consultora para la Ciudadanía, A.C. and for the Sociedad Iberoamericana de Neurociencia Aplicada, participating in projects related to psychosocial research, psychotraumatology, victim support, quality in mental health services and crisis intervention.
His extensive clinical and institutional experience reflects his commitment to mental health, education and the holistic well-being of individuals.

Myriam Escamilla Tapia is the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the entire school. She is a Clinical Psychologist, graduated from the Universidad de las Américas, and holds a dual degree as a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology.
With nearly eight years of experience at Tomás Alva Edison School, she has developed a solid understanding of students’ needs, having served as Grade Coordinator for 1st through 6th grade in elementary school.
For the past three years, she has led the Safeguarding Department, specializing in Child Protection and safeguarding procedures across all school levels, from elementary through high school.
She has deep knowledge and experience in the prevention, intervention, and management of critical situations such as bullying, abuse, maltreatment, self‑harm, risk behaviors, and mental health concerns, working to ensure a safe and protective environment for our entire student community.
Nuria Aguiñaga Chiñas holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a specialization in Clinical and Health Psychology from Universidad Panamericana, and she currently serves as the Safeguarding Lead in our Middle School. Her vocation is to support adolescents and their families, creating spaces for listening, emotional containment, and growth. With her experience in individual psychotherapy and work with young people, she strengthens socio‑emotional support programs, conflict mediation, and prevention initiatives, always with sensitivity, professionalism, and a comprehensive approach to student care. She also has a strong interest and experience in therapeutic and educational innovation, which allows her to integrate cutting‑edge tools such as immersive technologies.
Carolina Rivas Cuevas holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and has been part of TAE for twelve years, where she has taken on various roles, including 10th and 11th grade Coordinator and Vocational Guidance Coordinator.
She is currently in her fourth year as 12th grade Coordinator.
This school year, she also serves as the High School Safeguarding Representative, a key role in ensuring the physical, mental, and emotional well‑being of students. Her work focuses on supporting and guiding young people during one of the most significant stages of their development, providing them with a supportive and trusting environment as they prepare to face their next challenges.
