In 1983, Escuela Tomás Alva Edison was founded in Mexico City with the mission of educating well-rounded, inquisitive students prepared for a changing world. From its early years, it stood out for its human-centred approach, commitment to academic excellence and vision of creating an educational environment where each student could develop their full potential.
The acquisition by International Schools Partnership in 2019 marked a turning point in our school’s history. This integration made it possible to expand resources, strengthen infrastructure and adopt educational practices of an international standard. With the backing of a global network, the school consolidated its vision of providing innovative learning experiences with a worldwide outlook.
The year 2022 was one of the school’s most significant periods of expansion. The new Nursery opened, extending care to the earliest stages of childhood development, and the modern Nursery and Preschool campus at San Borja #909 began operations. In addition, accreditation as a Cambridge International School reinforced the institution’s commitment to international academic standards and high-quality global education.
Obtaining authorisation to offer the IB Diploma Programme in 2023 marked a key academic milestone. By joining the community of IB schools, the school reaffirmed its commitment to a rigorous educational model focused on critical thinking, research and intercultural understanding. This achievement broadened learning opportunities for students on their path to excellent higher education.
The twentieth anniversary of TAEMUN in 2024 was a source of pride for the community. This Model United Nations has become a key learning platform where students develop debating, negotiation and leadership skills. The celebration of two decades reflected the programme’s evolution, its educational impact and the school’s commitment to preparing young people to understand and transform their global environment.
The graduation of the first cohort of the IB Diploma Programme in 2025 symbolised the success of the programme’s implementation and the joint efforts of students, teachers and families. This achievement confirmed the school’s ability to prepare young people with critical thinking, social commitment and global skills.
